Hudu Integration *** EARLY ADOPTER MODE ***
The LCI Hudu Integration is available in Early Adopter Mode. We plan on adding additional integration support as outlined below (Targeted Supported Integration Types). Please check back frequently for updates.
Overview
LCI will allow you to configure Hudu as your primary integration source. Specifically, we will sync Companies, Contacts and Devices from Hudu to LCI. At this point, we are in Early Adopter Mode and have limited implementations with Hudu. If you identify any issues, please contact LCI Support.
Currently Supported Features:
- All companies will be sync'd and available for Activation
- Contact Sync - We will only sync data for Hudu Asset Layouts enabled for LCI Contacts
- Hudu Custom Field data if mapped to LCI Contact Fields
- CW Manage Contacts
- Autotask Contacts
- Halo Contacts
- Syncro Contacts
- Atera Contacts
- Device Sync - We will only sync data for Hudu Asset Layouts enabled for LCI Assets
- Hudu Custom Field data if mapped to LCI Asset Fields
- Datto RMM
- Ninja RMM (Added 2022.12.20)
- Watchman Monitoring (Added 2022.03.04)
- CW Manage
- Syncro
- Atera
- Auvik
- You may supplement your Hudu primary integration with a secondary integration with a supported PSA to pull Tickets and/or Contracts.
- Writeback of Purchase and/or Warranty Expiration Dates - see: Warranty and Purchase Date Write Backs (Navigate to Hudu)
Targeted Supported Integration Types:
The following integration types are not yet supported, but we intend on supporting them in the near future:
- Device Sync
- Autotask
At this time we do not plan on supporting any Hudu data that comes from Microsoft 365 or Liongard. However, you may supplement your Hudu integration with data from Microsoft 365 or Liongard with a direct integration within LCI.
Setting up Lifecycle Insights for Hudu Data Integration
Total Estimated time: Less than 10 minutes
The purpose of this document is to instruct you how to configure both Hudu and Lifecycle Insights so that data integration can occur between the two platforms. At this point, data only moves from Hudu to Lifecycle Insights.
This document is broken down into two sections.
- Hudu Configuration
- You will generate your API credentials
- Lifecycle Insights Configuration
- You will enter the API attributes into the Hudu Configuration panel in Lifecycle Insights
- You will map your Hudu Asset Layouts to LCI Assets and Contacts
Hudu Configuration
Estimated Time: <5 minutes="minutes"></5>
You must log into your Hudu instance and generate an API key for use by Lifecycle Insights. Please perform the following steps to do this:
1. Log into you Hudu Instance
2. Click on Admin (gear icon in top bar)
3. In Account Administration section (near bottom), click on API
4. Fill out the 'Create new API key form:
- Name your API Key (e.g. Lifecycle Insights)
- Optionally restrict to one company (e.g. for testing)
- Optionally, restrict by allowable IPs (see Whitelisting IP Addresses for Lifecycle Insights for restrictions).
- Please keep Password access UNCHECKED
- Please keep Can perform destructive actions? UNCHECKED
5. Click Create New Key
6. Copy the New API Key - YOU WILL NEED THIS LATER TO ENTER INTO LCI
You are ready to configure LCI!
Lifecycle Insights Configuration
Estimated time: <10 minutes="minutes"></10>
Now its time to configure the Hudu Integration with the Lifecycle Insights platform. Please follow along below to set up the integration.
1. Log into Lifecycle Insights
2. Once logged in, notice the Left Navigation pane has an Integrations Option under Administration. Click on Integrations, and your main content pane will show the list of available integration sources. Choose Hudu.
3. Please enter your base URL and API key you copied from Hudu set up earlier. Note that the Base URL should start with https:// and it should not have a trailing / at the end (e.g. https://lifecycleinsights.huducloud.com)
4. Click Save Settings
5. After you Save your settings above, LCI will start working. The first thing we will do is connect to your Hudu instance and pull your Asset Layouts.
You will be prompted when the pull is complete.
Please click the button: Proceed to Asset Layout Mapping
6. After clicking the Proceed to Asset Layout Mapping button, you will be directed to the Asset Layout Mapping tab. There are three purposes of the Asset Layout Mapping tab.
- You need to specify which Hudu Asset Layouts you want to import / sync with LCI.
- For each Layout, you need to specify if you want to load to an LCI Asset, or an LCI Contact
- Optionally, you may map Hudu custom fields to LCI Asset or Contact fields. Note: If you just want to sync Hudu integration data (IE. CW Manage, Syncro, NinjaRMM, etc), you do not have to map Hudu Custom fields.
Below is an example of what your Asset Layout Mapping page might look like:
The intent of this page is to allow you to map specific Hudu Asset Layout/s to either LCI Assets (Devices) or LCI Contacts. In most cases, you will map a Hudu Asset Layout to either LCI Assets OR LCI Contacts -not both.
Example Scenario: Let's say you have your RMM syncing to Hudu and loading all of your device information to the Hudu Asset Layout: Computer Assets. Additionally, you have your PSA syncing contacts to the Hudu Asset Layout: People. If that is your scenario, your mapping page would look like this:
LCI knows how to parse Hudu data coming from a supported integration (IE. CW Manage, Datto RMM, ...). However, if you have created custom fields for the Hudu Asset Layout, you may optionally map the Hudu Custom Fields to LCI fields by clicking on the Mappings button.
After clicking on the Mappings button, you will be prompted with a dialog to map the Hudu Custom Fields to LCI fields.
In this dialog, we will show a list of LCI data fields that can be mapped. For each LCI data field, you may select a Hudu Asset Layout field to map to it.
Example of Field Mapping
One other thing to note is Mapping Prioritization Options near the top of the dialog:
Prioritization matters if Hudu has collected data from both a third party integration (Integration Card in Hudu), and also has data entered into a Hudu custom field. By default the Integration data will be loaded into LCI. If you want the Hudu Custom Field data to be loaded if both exist, then you would select 'Prioritize Hudu Field Data Over Integration Card Data'.
7. Once you have enabled at least one Hudu Asset Layout to either LCI Asset or LCI Contact, you will be permitted to launch your Initial Sync with Hudu. To launch, click the button Launch Initial Sync Now! button.
After clicking the Launch button your site will be frozen while they initial sync runs. It may take up to 30 minutes for the Sync to Complete. You should receive an email once the initial sync is complete.
