Lifecycle Insights allows assets to be uploaded into a company site via CSV file.
Possible use cases:
- track Chromebooks that are not captured in your PSA
- track devices that do not have an agent and aren't found in your RMM
How to Import a CSV file
Navigate to Data Manager in the vCIO navigation pane.
Select the Import Assets Tile
Default Field Selections
This section shows how to select default field values for your file import.
Please note: If these fields are mapped in your csv file, the contents of the file will override any default selections you have set.
Select the Data Source from the drop-down menu or add a new source by clicking the 'Add New Source' link.
The Source type selected or created will be shown in the Source column of the Asset List.
You must also select the following from the drop-down lists:
Default Company
Default Location
Default Asset Type
Default Asset Status
Defaults are applied only if the fields are not present/mapped to LCI. If the feild(s) is/are mapped in the csv file, the default value will be overridden.
The fields/columns must match LCI field names exactly or the record(s) will not be imported, Refer to the drop-down lists of default items for exact data matches.
Once you have mapped your defaults, choose a file to import by clicking the 'Choose File' button and browse to your csv file.
Once you have selected your file, click the 'Load and Map Colums' button to open the field matching table.
Use the drop down selectors to map the fields within the file to the correct LCI field.
If you make an error, there is a start over button available for your convenience.
Once you have mapped all of the fields to LCI fields, click the 'Import Data' button at the bottom of the table
After the import has completed, you can verify the assets are imported by navigating to the Asset List page.
