Lifecycle Insights recommendation templates can be migrated to Lifecycle Manager and used as Initiative templates for Lifecycle Manager X clients.

This process creates a duplicate of your Lifecycle Insights recommendation templates in Lifecycle Manager. Your original templates remain available in Lifecycle Insights and can continue to be used there.

This article covers how to migrate recommendation templates from Lifecycle Insights and how to find and use them in Lifecycle Manager.

Who can use this feature?

  • Users with Administrator permissions in both Lifecycle Insights and Lifecycle Manager

Step 1: Migrating recommendation templates from Lifecycle Insights

  1. Log into Lifecycle Insights with an admin account. (The same account must also have admin permission in Lifecycle Manager)

  2. Click Account settings in the left navigation panel of Lifecycle Insights.

  3. Select the Data Migration tile.

Note: At the top of the data migration page, the Lifecycle Manager admin account associated with the currently logged in user is displayed. Ensure the account shown is the one associated with the Lifecycle Manager account you want to migrate assessment templates to.

  4. Click + NEW MIGRATION in the upper right corner of the screen.

  5. Select Recommendation Templates from the Data Type drop-down.

  6. A list of available Recommendation templates is shown, along with their migration status:
    • Ready - A Recommendation template ready to be migrated to Lifecycle Manager.
    • Completed - A Recommendation template that has already been migrated to Lifecycle Manager.
(Note that if a previously migrated template is deleted from Lifecycle Manager, this field will still show completed in Lifecycle Insights)
    • Failed - A previously attempted migration that has failed.

Click the checkbox beside each template to select them for migration.

  7. Click Start Migration.

  8. Enter an email address to receive migration status updates and completion notifications. Click Start Migration to begin the migration process.

Recommendation template migration begins immediately and runs in the background with no monitoring  required. You'll receive an email when it's complete.

Open the Reviewing migrated Initiatives templates in Lifecycle Manager dropdown below to find and review your migrated Recommendation templates.

Step 2: Reviewing migrated Initiatives templates in Lifecycle Manager

The migration process requires no action to be taken in Lifecycle Manager, but it's best practise to check and confirm that the Initiative templates appear as expected after migrating them from Lifecycle Insights.

To view your migrated Initiative templates:

  1. Log into Lifecycle Manager.

  2. Hover over Home in the upper navigation bar of Lifecycle Manager. Click Clients.

  3. Click any client's name to open the Client dashboard.

  4. Click Roadmap from the left navigation menu in the Client dashboard.

  5. Click New Initiative + in the upper right of the screen. The Initiative Detail modal appears.

  6. In the upper left of the Initiative Detail modal, click Apply template... The Initative template selector appears.

  7. Use the search bar to locate your imported template. Click its name and click Apply template.

The new Initiative will be populated with your migrated data.

Click Cancel in the lower right of the screen to cancel the new initiative creation if it's not required.

After following the above guides, your Lifecycle Insights Recommendation templates will be imported into Lifecycle Manager and can be used as Initiative templates.
